Workout data stays on your device

Profiles, assessment answers, goals, equipment, movement preferences, plans, completed and skipped sets, weights, repetitions, durations, XP and workout history are stored in the app’s local storage. Honest Effort has no cloud workout account or automatic workout sync. SAD Studios does not receive these records unless you choose to share them.

Google advertising and privacy choices

This beta includes Google Mobile Ads SDK 25.5.0 and Google User Messaging Platform 4.0.0. It uses Google demonstration ad units, which do not generate advertising revenue. The advertising SDK may collect and share IP addresses (which can indicate approximate location), device/account identifiers, app/ad interactions and diagnostic information with Google for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. The app does not pass your workout records, profile name or assessment answers into ad requests.

Where applicable, Google’s privacy form controls available advertising choices. Ads stay disabled when the app cannot establish privacy eligibility. Open Settings → Ad privacy options / retry to review available choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. Google Privacy Policy.

Feedback reports

Report a problem lets you write a report, optionally include the app release, current screen and browser/WebView information, and copy, download or open it in your email app. Nothing is emailed automatically. Review the report before sending it to s.a.d.productionstudios@gmail.com. Do not include sensitive health information you do not want to share. Your email provider processes messages under its own policies. SAD Studios uses feedback to investigate problems and improve the app; you may request deletion of your correspondence using this contact address, subject to necessary support, security or legal retention.

Backups and exports

JSON backups contain your profile and workout records. Exports go to a location you choose and are not encrypted by the app. Protect them appropriately. Restoring a backup changes only the selected local profile. Shared copies and downloaded reports are under your control.

Retention and deletion

Local records remain until you delete a profile, choose Delete all local data in Settings, clear app storage, or remove the app’s data. These actions do not delete exported files or emails you have sent. Request deletion of feedback received by SAD Studios by emailing s.a.d.productionstudios@gmail.com. Google controls data it receives under its own policies and privacy controls.

Security and permissions

The app uses internet/network access for Google ads and privacy checks. Android’s document picker handles imports and exports without broad file-storage access. The app does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, Health Connect or body-sensor access. Google documents that advertising SDK data is encrypted in transit with TLS. Local storage and exports are not an encrypted cloud backup service.

Audience and health information

Honest Effort is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent medical conditions. Seek professional advice about medical concerns and whether exercise is suitable for you.
